Schmieding Method Home Caregiver Training

The Schmieding Method Home Caregiver Training was developed by the Schmieding Center for Senior Health and Education of Northwest Arkansas. This evidenced based program of training for familycaregivers provides the right level of skills and hands-on care giving methods that may well keep a senior in his/her home for many years.
The
Center for Caregiver Excellence incorporates a modern multimedia learning
environment that includes a classroom seating twenty students and a Elder Care
Apartment Simulation Lab that provides an actual home environment for family
members and students to practice care giving skills taught at the center. The
simulation lab utilizes the latest in home medical equipment, practice
manikins, and adaptive tools for independent living. The course material used
by the center will be the Schmieding Method Home Caregiver Training developed
by the Schmieding
Center for Senior Health
and Education of Northwest Arkansas. This is an evidenced based program of
training for family caregivers that teaches 57 skills and hands-on care giving
methods that assist family to keep a senior in his/her home for many years.
The
goal of the center is to provide family members and elder caregivers
with information and skills to provide safe and competent care for the seniors
in their home. The Center for Caregiver Excellence will provide Schmeiding
Method Home Caregiver Training as well as caregiver continuing education
opportunities throughout the year so that family and friends will have
access to a growing foundation of knowledge and support that helps family
members care for their loved ones in their homes.
